Johnson-Brock came out of the halftime break with a 4120 lead over a winless Sterling team on Tuesday, December 19 in Johnson. The already stifling Eagle defense came out with even more focus in the second half, allowing only four Sterling points in the final 16 minutes of play.
Senior Maverick Binder and junior Nixon Ligouri took turns reaching 20-plus point scoring nights in Auburn’s final two games before the holiday break. With a 55-16 win over Louisville on Tuesday, December 19 followed by a 51-42 road victory over Class C1 #6 Douglas County (DC) West, Auburn enters the December moratorium unbeaten for the first time since the 2020-2021 season.
Four Bulldog girls wrestlers won their weight divisions in the Auburn Invitational on Saturday, December 16. Aleah Thomas, Penelope Campbell, Lucia Campbell, and Gretchen Paschal each claimed their respective divisions to lead Auburn to a first place finish over Lincoln North Star, Omaha Northwest, Lincoln Northwest and Conestoga.
Johnson-Brock improved to 5-0 this season after two wins over Diller-Odell and Tri County. The Eagles were victorious in their first real test of the year, responding from a four point deficit after the first quarter to defeat the Trojans on Friday, December 15. On Tuesday, December 12, Johnson-Brock allowed only one double-digit quarter to best Diller-Odell to start the week.
