Coach Grant Cole’s Bulldog team found themselves in a couple of battles this past week. The Auburn girls hosted Maryville, Missouri and Palmyra this past week in Auburn. The Bulldogs fell short against the Spoofhounds on Tuesday, January 2, but bounced back with a close victory over Palmyra on Friday, January 5. Auburn sits at 5-7 following their most recent week of play.

Entering the new year, the 8-0 Bulldogs had held their opponents to an average of 31.4 points per game, including two games in which Auburn’s opponents failed to reach the 20-point mark. But when the Maryville, Missouri Spoofhounds crossed state lines on Tuesday, January 2, no defensive scheme would win the day.

In their final competition of the 2023 calendar year, the Bulldog girls wrestling team split their duals at the Friday, December 29 triangular in Auburn.
