1948-2023

Patrick M. “Pat” Adams, 75, of Norfolk passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his residence in Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Pat was born on May 4, 1948 in Auburn, Nebraska to Marvin E. and Doris J. (Gauchat) Adams. He attended grade school in Brock, Nebraska and graduated from Norfolk High School.

Pat enlisted in the United States Navy on October 4, 1966. After boot camp he attended the Electronic Technician School at the Naval Training Center in Great Lake, IL from July, 1967 to May, 1968. He married Nancy Mae Loughrey on June 8, 1968 at First Christian Church in Norfolk. Pat served on the George C. Marshal and the Thomas S. Jefferson, he was honorably discharged on October 8, 1976.

After his service, Pat and Nancy moved to Norfolk. He worked for Lindsay Manufacturing, Midwest Canners, and then Nucor for 24 years until he retired. He also worked part-time after his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an avid reader and amateur Ham Radio Operator. Pat was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., American Legion, NRA member, and First Christian Church in Norfolk.

Survivors include his spouse Nancy Adams of Norfolk, son Shawn Adams of Atchison, KS, son Scott Adams of Norfolk, grandchildren Brady (Meaghan) Adams their sons Jeremy and Lane, Hannah Adams (Austin Carter), Jackson (Sidney) Adams all of Kansas City, Wyatt Adams of Lawrence, KS, mother Doris Adams of Norfolk, siblings Beverly (Richard) Sapp of Leesburg, FL, Gregg (Janice) Adams of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin E. “Doc” Adams.

Funeral service for Pat were held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Marshal Hardy officiated the service. Interment was be held at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Military rites were conducted by the American Legion Post 16, V.F.W. Post 1644, United States Navy Honor Guard, and the American Legion Riders.
