Fattig Praises Hospital Staff In Dispensing COVID Vaccine

Nemaha County Commissioners heard the semiannual report from Marty Fattig, Nemaha County Hospital chief executive officer (CEO), Wednesday, June 9.

Fattig said the facility’s balance sheet remains strong. He continued while things are going well at the hospital it needs more nurses, like every other medical facility.

Friday, April 30 ended the hospital’s fiscal year. While the CEO related inpatient volumes have not increased, the past year was unique. “We hopefully will never have another year like 2020,” he stated.

About 4,000 COVID vaccinations were administered by Nemaha County Hospital staff, Fattig told the commissioners. He said the staff “did a fabulous job but we can’t find arms to put vaccine in.” Immunizations are available at Stoner Drug or the Southeast District Health Department.
