Diplomas Conferred on AHS Class of 2020 in Aug. 1 Outdoor Ceremony
Temperatures in the 60s greeted everyone celebrating the Auburn High School (AHS) Class of 2020 Saturday morning, Aug. 1.
Joshua Barker, Calvin Hughes, Rebekah Nelson and Macy Rieschick were co-valedictorians of more than 60 students achieving diplomas at Bulldog Stadium. It was available through STRIV-TV for family members and friends unable to attend.
Five who have been involved in the TeamMates mentoring program were recognized: Celestina Davis, Alexandra Gerking, Chloe Hamilton, Joseph Hestermann and Sydney Rogers. Since fifth grade, each met with an adult mentor weekly during each school year as well as taking part in special events. The mission of TeamMates is to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring. The ultimate goal is to have mentors stay with their student mentees through high school graduation.
Kristin Kudrna, guidance counselor, thanked all mentors for their commitment to AHS students.
