Commissioners to Monitor Increasing COVID-19 Numbers

The Nemaha County Commissioners reviewed the ongoing coronavirus pandemic Wednesday morning, Aug. 5.

Chair Bryan Mellage notes the board needs to keep it in the forefront with an upswing in reported incidences. From Monday, July 20 through the evening of Aug. 5, the Southeast District Health Department (SEDHD) has confirmed 17 cases from the county. County officials do not have the ability to close the courthouse to the public unless the governor issues a Directive Health Measure or SEDHD mandates it. Access was available only by appointment from Friday, March 20 through Monday, June 15.

Since unlocking, disposable masks and hand sanitizer have been available at both entrances to the building. Some offices continue limiting in-person access.
