Auburn City Council Doesn’t Approve Home Occupation for Firearm Business

During its Oct. 12 monthly meeting, Auburn City Council didn’t approve a Home Occupation application for gun smithing and gun sales at 1202 11th Street for Midwest Rifle Co. LLC.

Homeowner Kyle Huntley advised that he was pursuing the Home Occupation business route because his intentions were to operate by appointment or an oncall basis and he foresaw minimal additional vehicle or foot traffic in the area. Huntley said he woks long hours at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institute and the new business would a side job. He also advised that he isn’t originally from Auburn and intends to eventually move closer to home in the Norfolk area.
